Freedom of Assembly Critical to Survival

Xiangiang Ethnic Riots
Chinese Assembly Turned Ugly
9 people are to be executed for riots in China. The minority, indigenous Uighurs took to the streets not in orderly protests. We are a nation which allows for protests, China is not. Ethnic tensions in Xinjiang Province are not new, nor is violence. In my opinion, violence becomes the option when a government becomes repressive.
At this very moment in time, Tea Party Protests are happening across the nation. In spite of protests, phone calls, letters, emails, faxes, personal visits the government continues down a path which the majority of citizens do not approve. Eventually, something will have to change either the government will listen or the people will turn violent. At that point we will be in no better condition than the Chinese.
Today, we have the opportunity to stop the Marxists. Their power is centralized, not local. Yes, they have some organizations but they are primarily inner city. Their roots are not spread across the spectrum of voters. If we build power at the local level, no one can stop us and violence will never become the “only” option.
Be thankful today we have Freedom of Assembly
Nine executed over Xinjiang riots
Chinese authorities have executed nine people in connection with the ethnic riots in Xinjiang earlier this year, regional reports say.
Nearly 200 people were killed in July during unrest between ethnic Uighurs and members of China’s Han majority in the regional capital, Urumqi.
The nine men were convicted of crimes including murder and arson, according to the state-owned China News Service.
