Comcast After NBC

Mr. Shivers-up-the-Leg Mathews Better Run for Office

When Cable Giant Comcast purchases NBC/Universal MSNBC host Mathews better find new work. His adoration of the jr. admin. from IL has made him unhireable. As are probably most of the front people on MSNBC. Comcast has been profitable and I assume wish to continue that.

NBC television is a big loser. Speculation has been Comcast might offload NBC. But to whom? If there are no idiots available Comcast will be forced to step in and put the failing ship on a sound course. Which includes jettisoning the Marxist sympathizers.

GE the current owner of NBC had billions if not trillions of reasons to front for the new Marxist regime. Try Smart Grid and Health Care for two. With CEO Immelt all but physically joined to jr. at the hip, he would pour billions into the loser NBC before abandoning it’s voice. Comcast has no such relationship to foster.

Granted the FCC and the administration could force them into a corner, but at some point, Comcast has to decide on profit or bankrupty if it continues the path of NBC networks. While government might try to squeeze Comcast, shrinking NBC might be a more viable solution. The abandoning of CNBC and MSNBC would cut costs dramatically, until they could find a buyer for the Old Line NBC.

Regardless, the sale of NBC/Universal cuts one leg off the octopus as a propaganda machine. We can expect MSNBC to go quietly into the night or revamp it’s programming from “Cellblock Hell” and “Admin-Mouthpiece” to something more mainstream. Good riddance.

GE, Comcast agree on NBC Universal valuation: source

Sun Nov 8, 2009 7:39pm EST

NEW YORK (Reuters) – General Electric Co (GE.N). and Comcast Corp (CMCSA.O) have agreed on a valuation of around $30 billion for NBC Universal, ironing out what has been a key obstacle in talks to form a joint venture between NBC Universal and Comcast, a source familiar with the matter said on Sunday.

French media conglomerate Vivendi (VIV.PA), which owns 20 percent of NBC Universal, has not yet agreed to a deal between GE and Comcast. GE owns 80 percent of NBC Universal.
