This morning’s action started with LeMans 24 hour race on Speed. After hitting the hotel restaurant, I found the Speed Channel’s High Def broadcast. Soon after tuning in, one of the leading prototypes hit another car and careened into a barrier. The accident was almost tragic. Track officials and photographers were behind the barrier, which the Audi almost cleared.
Canadian GP qualifying comes this afternoon. This morning’s 3rd practice practice shows Vettel, Hamilton, Button & Rosberg quickest. Can Vettel notch another F1 pole?
Indy Car filed into Texas this week end for one of the wildest races of the year. The night time race provides fans with a wheel to wheel spectacle not found in any other franchise.
Pocono once a highlight in the USAC circuit doesn’t offer much racing for the Nas-ar boys. The track while long & wide, doesn’t provide the grip for racing. Fuel mileage (as did the two previous events) may be the deciding factor. Pit strategy might also enter into the car sitting in victory lane. It would be rare for the outcome to be decided by side by side racing.
Having owned a Peugeot a few years ago, I’ll pull for the #9 co-piloted by former Cart Champ, Frenchman, Sebastien Bourdias in the 24 Hour test. Vettel has been my pick since Schumacher convinced Ferrari to dump Kimi Raikkonen. In Texas, it’s hard to go against Scott Dixon. Finally, Dale Jr’s not fond of Pocono, but his crew chief might get him into victory lane. Go Steve Letarte.
