Stone Loves Nationalization

Scumbag on a Soap Box

One must wonder if the drugs ingested by Oliver Stone have taken away his good sense, or has he been swept away by his own sense of self worth. Reading a recent blurb on him, he’s a complete mess as a human, but a lucky one. His work, Platoon, made him a movie icon and Hollywood has kept him up on the pedestal since in spite of a colossal implosion as a director.

In a recent pontification, Stone told the British press, the US needs to nationalize oil. Okay, it’s a crackpot idea fresh off the pages of the Maxist-in-chief’s playbook, but the current populist wave might just put a surf board on this one. And yes, while he’s a scum bag, he has a right to his opinion, even it’s incredibly silly.

We do not have to listen. We can change the channel, write a blog, send out a twitter message, post a comment on Facebook, tell a neighbor. We do not need to sit idly by while people with access to the press get coverage for stupid ideas. And I wonder if it’s not a trial balloon for the administration’s next populist move.

They are two for two on the riding populism to victory. Their Wall Street bashing enabled them to push through a set of regulations which will cripple the US economy for decades if it goes to maturity. They morphed the medical profession, big pharma, and health insurers into the most despicable humans on earth, just behind GW, in an effort to saddle us with socialized medicine.

Big oil’s a work in progress, which keeps turning on them. Just when the jr. admin. from IL thinks he has a leg up, something rears up and bites him. Stone’s little antic might be just the energy needed to get the “politically correct” media behind a populist wave against “big oil.” Stone is not the first to suggest nationalization of oil, but he might be the one who gets the ball rolling.
