Defense of the Republic

federal_telegraph_keyThe title for this blog was chosen because it defines my goal.
While I know that my blog will have no major impact on the current administration, I might have an impact on enough people who in-turn will impact others and as a group we can manifest some change.
Some blogs cover the citizenship issue and do it well. Others are working more on political issues. Some target issues of the day as their purpose. All of these blogs serve a purpose.
Bloggers have created a web of information beyond what the media disperses. Even the so-called conservative media misses or will not touch certain issues. Remember, the media by its very nature is a “for profit” venture. I and most of the blogs I follow are not. We each have a desire to change the situation as we see it.
While some of the information which appears may be faulty, much of it is not. For example, the citizenship coverage by blogs such as the Steady Drip and Right Side of Life, continue the effort that most have abandoned and the media, even Fox, would not touch. Lonely Conservative produces a lot of articles on current topics every day, which is impressive considering she has a full time job and is a full time Mom also.
Sites such as Brussels Journal present a view from the European perspective. The NewZeal.Blogspot looks at life from the underside of the world, which we need from time to time to help us realize others view the world quite differently.
All of these blogs can be found in the side bar along with headlines if there is anything current.
The point to remember– we are the government. We are in a position of needing each other to pass information. For me it’s about defending the basis of our government, the “Republic.” Along with articles which deal directly with the assault, I post items which might be interesting.
My twitter list is growing daily. Twitter seems to be all the rage now, as people on the media are mentioning it. If you have not checked out Twitter, you might. It’s a way for people to follow what others are doing. I get leads on stories almost every day from people I follow.
Networking was the way to build a business or enhance one’s standing. Today it may be our means of survival. The more ways we have to stay in touch the better we are able to pass information.
Important message of the day–
For profit companies and sites have an agenda. “It’s to make money.”
