Thanksgiving 08

There is much for which to be grateful. Our country remains safe from terror attacks, may it remain so always. Last night was a reminder hatred for our way of life continues. No president, nor appeasement policy will change that. For the terrorist only adoption of their way of life will be victory for them. We [...]

Wake Up Pundits

Some time ago, I started reading blogs by the mainstream republicans. They no longer have relevance in the debate conservatives have with themselves. For the GOP pundits it’s all about finding a new Reagan. This group seem to be like the has-been jocks at the high school reunions, clamoring for the “good ole days.”

Drunk Again?

There is hope for the phrase – – “Spends like a drunken sailor.” From Bloomberg News: “The money that’s been pledged is equivalent to $24,000 for every man, woman and child in the country. It’s nine times what the U.S. has spent so far on wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to Congressional Budget Office [...]

Bail "Me" Out!

The running joke on financial news networks is people applying for a personal bail out from the TARP. As the days go by, we see that is not far from reality. Every type of company is applying for help from the government. Not just in the U.S., Jaguar applied for a one billion pound bailout [...]

The Real World Blog

From the Blog – – The Real World “Common Sense in the Midst of Nonsense” Early-on in their history, labor unions played the key role in the elimination of the exploitation of human labor for profit. They fought hard for fair treatment of workers and they were subject to horrendous retribution by the captains of [...]

Fairy Dust

Messianic Proposal The problem with being a messiah is one must conjure up miracles. Well, the wanna-be has a ready made opportunity to convert sewage into wine and rubbish into fish (sans mercury please).

Andy Martin

I am taking a flyer on this one. Someone sent me a link on Andy Martin’s blog. The reason I post is his belief we must start locally to regain power. http://contrariancommentary.blogspot.com/

Party’s Over

Spend What? The financial networks keep talking about the economy rebounding. While they mention it in passing, the impact of the de-leveraged consumer seems to escape them. Their blindness can be excused by the fact they make their living watching a giant shell game. One minute they are exuberant, the next depressed all based on the [...]

402k

Your 401k has always been yours. But with the socialist arriving at the door this month, you can expect changes. Think I am kidding? From That Blozzz–“Many of you have heard of the hearings held where Teresa Ghilarducci, an Economist, purposed that there is an overhaul of the 401k system. She proposes that each American [...]

Leadership Pt. 2

Le Morte de Artur is a work by Sir Thomas Mallory from which Camelot was born. King Arthur has become legend as the leader of the Round Table. Many books have been spawned on a mythical king’s role in ancient England. In fact, Arthur did not exist, nor did Camelot. Yet in today’s world we [...]

Right to Vote

Ever wonder why the Founding Fathers set up a government which restricted voting to property owners? Granted it was not a knowledge test but it was the best they could do to keep debtors from voting themselves freebies. The Founding Fathers knew that creditors had more at stake. They were more invested in the success of [...]

Socialist Outcome

Collective BargainingA basic principle of socialism is about to gain a stranglehold on the U.S. For some idea of the true nature of complete and total collective bargaining, check out the buildings in the video. The music is rap and in French, so if that is too annoying turn it down. The video buffers, to [...]

Fair Tax

In response to post about the Fair TaxPlease explain the embedded tax. I have owned both wholesale and retail businesses and never encountered the embedded tax.VAT tax exists as do income taxes, GST exists as do income taxes. I suggest one must base their projections on fact. The history of the U.S. government is to [...]
